Branding design for Lo Racó d’en Carles Restaurant.

When Carles took over the management of the restaurant, it had a different name. Carles, with a great experience in restoration, took it as a personal project and decided to change the name, replacing it with his own.

Lo Racó d’en Carles – El Rincón de Carles. “Lo” is a word that is used a lot in the area of Lleida instead of “El” we write “Lo” in the brand, to reaffirm the area, its people and the excellent native gastronomy that they cook in the Restaurant.

We wanted a simple and elegant image and chose to design the logo in one color, black. It gives seriousness, sophistication, elegance…

As a personal project of the client, we developed the image as a stamp or seal with the initials of the name, which gives ownership.
R and C for Racó and Carles, Carles is written in bold to emphasize the owner even more.

All stationery and cards are printed in one ink – black – but with touches of selective varnish to give a sense of quality.

In the design we also included a photo of a fork, to include as a corporate element and use it in some occasions. For example, on a wall we put a large vinyl of the knife and the public uses it to take selfies as if the fork was holding their head. A local amusement.

Another intervention was the implementation of vinyls on walls with icon-drawings that interpret what you can find to eat. This already gives you a clue as to what you will find on the menu as soon as you enter.

In the end and with a small budget, the result was a formal and coordinated image, personalizing the restaurant and giving it a different look as the owner needed.
